Cosy Cottage is committed to providing staff with learning opportunities and training for Continual Professional Development. We ensure all staff have a thorough induction to the Nursery and are given fundamental training in first aid, child protection and food hygiene. We believe in having shared aims and goals throughout the Nursery, creating a common vision for the future.
In order to provide excellent learning experiences for our children, we start by looking at the training and motivational needs of our staff.
Happy staff, Happy Children, Happy parents!
Welcome to our Cosy Cottage Nursery School website. My name is Julie, and I am the Nursery Director and Owner of Cosy Cottage Nursery School (Since 2021) and also, Blossom Tree Children’s Nursery (since 2011)
I have always had a strong passion for working with children, and hold an HNC Childcare and Education and a Degree in Childhood Practice from Edinburgh University. Prior to owning Nurseries I worked in a range of child focused roles with Edinburgh Council, ESMS, and the NSPCC / ChildLine.
In addition to my role as Nursery Director, I am a mother of two girls, Farrah and Esmae. I adore spending time with them, as well as being a busy working mum behind the scenes of Cosy Cottage and Blossom Tree.
Nicola is our senior area Manager who works between Blossom Tree and our sister nursery Cosy Cottage. Nicola has been a part of the Blossom Tree team since 2013 and is fully qualified in both her SVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development, and SVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management.

Sarah is our on-site Nursery Manager who has been a part of the Blossom Tree team since 2015 and is fully qualified in both her SVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development, and her SVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management.
