Nursery Activities

As our nursery is very small, the children, parents and staff all know each other very well.

We adopt a Froebelian approach at Cosy Cottage which places high value on belonging to a community. This also influences our play based learning approach – we believe children learn best through play and provide natural open-ended resources which encourage creativity and problem solving.

Cosy Cottage believes that messy play and sensory experiences are an important part of early learning. Children always have a choice about how they would like to spend their day.
We provide opportunities for a range of experiences including role play, art, sand and water play, messy play, as well as regular story and song time.

We have three playrooms at Cosy Cottage Nursery School, plus a large garden to explore.

Our under 3’s building, houses the Caterpillar Room and the Butterfly Room. The children are able to move between these rooms for a large majority of the day. (Not currently due to Covid-19)

Cosy Cabin belongs to our 3-5 years olds. The children have free access to the garden plus a range of resources.
